5 Tips to Succeeding in 2024

The New Year is here already and many things have been said about the year being a difficult one but I am here to share with you five tips to succeeding in 2024.

1.) Plan your finance: January is said to be the most challenging part of the year but if carefully planned you will cruise through it. Unfortunately many of us must have over spent in the festive period. This can be avoided if we had our calculator close to us. We have to be prudent with our earnings as a percentage should be set aside for January before business activities resumes to normal.

2) Prepare for opportunities: A maxim says "Opportunities comes but once". I choose to disagree, technology has disrupted means of doing business or offering a service. The entire world is a global village and with internet access business opportunities are every where. What is required is your preparation! How prepared are you determines your earnings in your chosen field, decide to sharpen your skillset and grab the bull by the horn in 2024!

3) Keep the right associations: you are your company of people you keep. Plan to attend conferences that relates to your specific niche, be updated on the developments in your field of expertise, connect and network with others. No man is an island, therefore to get ahead in 2024, most importantly build your people skills.

4) Health is wealth: decide to maintain a good exercise routine and balance diet. Plan your schedules and leave room for rest. You need to stay healthy to improve your earning capacity, look good and smart. If you have been eating junks, cut down on it, avoid stress and laugh more.

5) Be grateful: for every goal you achieve, be grateful and the one you missed, be grateful. It goes a long way to keeping you positive about succeeding in 2024. Though challenges may come, a grateful attitude will sustain you through it. Stay happy and go make 2024 count!

I cared less about getting food to eat, I wouldn't let go though I accepted my fate. One day, somewhere, life situation did hit me and that sp...

The Market is Open

Presently, Nigeria consumes an average of 44.3 million litres of petrol per day as compared to 66.7 million litres before subsidy removal (source: NMDPRA). While the average cost of petrol in the world today is $1.31 US dollars (source: Global Petrol Prices), in Nigeria it is $0.503 (source: Global Petrol Prices). The official exchange rate is N1,469 to $1. A simple multiplication to that effect leaves the cost of petrol at N757 a litre in the global market while NNPC is selling at N617 leaving a difference of N140. I ask a question, is government still paying fuel subsidy?    Meeting the required local demands has been a long-term issue in the country and the declaration of subsidy removal by the Tinubu administration on May 29, 2023 hiked up the pump price of petrol astronomically with its ripple effects on delivery of goods and services and cost of food. The grand entrance of Aliko Dangote into the oil industry appears to be a source of relief to the Nigeria...
